Today the area of the Upper Nidd Valley is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  One hundred years ago however it was the scene of feverish activity as Bradford Corporation sought to finish its programme of reservoir-building with the construction of Scar House Reservoir in full swing. Linking the bleak uplands of the Nidd Valley to civilisation was the Nidd Valley Railway, connecting to the main network at Pateley Bridge and running some seven miles to Lofthouse, then onwards to the reservoir construction site.  An eclectic mix of locomotives and rolling stock had been acquired by Bradford Corporation including this delightful four wheeled vehicle, faithfully re-constructed  in brass by the the late Trevor Shaw who modelled many items from the NVR. Fully decorated with Bradford Corporation lettering, including the city crest, this is a unique opportunity to add an unusual piece of Yorkshire's railway history to your collection.
