This example of Stanier's 5MT has been built to a high standard from a David Andrews kit and runs beautifully. It depicts no. 5012, one of the earliest members of its class, which was built at Crewe in 1935. Having spent time at Inverness, Carlisle and Barrow, the engine was withdrawn in 1966.

Condition Description

The model is in very good condition overall. There are some minor blemishes to the boiler and one or two paint chips to the edge of the running plate. There is some wear to the paintwork on the tender, which looks to have been lightly varnished. The buffers are sprung, but one of them is stiff in its housing. One of the '5' digits is slightly frayed at the top left corner.
