Introduced from 1926 the LMS 2-6-0 'Crab' was a successful mixed traffic locomotive influenced by both L&Y and Midland Railway designs. Designed by George Hughes No. 13174 was built in 1930 at Crewe and was withdrawn from BR service in 1962.
