Silurian the racehorse was noted for his promiscuity and the siring of numerous foals; his namesake A1 indulged in no such antics, providing 17 years of front-line service on the East Coast Main Line until withdrawal in 1965. Golden Age Models employs all-brass construction in its O Gauge masterpieces, which together with superb detailing captures the powerful essence of the prototype. This example features DCC sound (upgraded by Cliff Williams), a factory-fitted smoke system and a professionally weathered finish courtesy of our own Neil Armitage.
