Constructed from a DJB kit, this model depicts 'Dean Single' (otherwise known as '3031' or 'Achilles' Class) no. 3045 'Hirondelle', beautifully finished in GWR lined green. The real engine entered service in 1895 and was withdrawn shortly before the outbreak of the First World War.
