Finescale O Gauge (Kit-Built) ex-GWR 'Dukedog' No. 9012 BR Black, Early Emblem

1 item left

Constructed from what is thought to be a Gladiator Kit, this hybrid locomotive in real life has been constructed to a very good standard and finished in BR black with early emblem.

Built in 1937, No. 9012 was originally destined the name Earl of Eldon however the GWR directors did not find the locomotives suitable for naming due to their antiquated looks. The locomotives took the frames from the Bulldog class and used the boilers of the Duke class, which were both being withdrawn at the time. Withdrawn in 1957, the locomotive lasted 20 years in service. One locomotive No. 9017 has been preserved.
