Another Churchward design, the 42xx Class engines were designed to handle heavy coal trains from the South Wales Valleys to the coast. No. 4277 was active from 1920 to 1964, and this excellent model has been constructed form a David Andrews kit and finished to a high standard.

Condition Description

The model is in overall excellent condition, with some very light marks to the side of one tank. The rear coupling is sprung whereas that to the front is fixed. The cab roof has not been fixed in place.

The model displays good running qualities, with some hesitation at low speed.
