Peppercorn's A1 locomotives were designed for top-link express services on BR's Eastern Region. No. 60161 was a Scottish-based engine for all of her short working life; retirement came in 1963 when ousted by 'Deltics' and other main line diesels. This model has been constructed from a David Andrews kit and equipped with an ABC motor/gearbox combination for excellent running.

Condition Description

In overall very good condition. There are some minor paint chips to the running plate, one or two light marks to the glazing and a blemish to one side of the boiler. One of the rear sprung buffers in loose in its housing, and one of the front sprung buffers is stiff. There is a small amount of dust residue to crevices in the cab and tender. A footplate crew have been fitted.
