Finescale O Gauge (Kit-Built) LNER Class J50 No. 789

Originally Class G23 when constructed by the Great Northern Railway, these engines were redesignated J50 by the LNER and became strongly associated with shunting duties and coal traffic in North East England. They were known as 'Submarines' due to the distinctive shape of their tanks. This model has been constructed to a high standard from a Connoisseur kit and is appropriate for modelling periods up to the mid-1960s.

Condition Description

The model is in overall excellent condition, with some blemishes to the paintwork on top of the tanks and to the side of the right-hand tank. The paintwork to the tank sides displays a gloss finish.

Good - Struggles at low speeds

Test Results

The model runs smoothly throughout most of the speed range, with some hesitation evident at very low speed.
