Help & Support
The LMS constructed 33 'Garratt' engines between 1927 and 1930. Intended to haul heavy coal trains between the East Midlands and London, the engines were also employed on ironstone traffic and could regularly be seen traversing the Hope Valley route across the Peak District. No. 4986 was allocated to Toton (whose steam sheds had specially extended 'Garratt roads'), Wellingborough and Hasland during a 27-year career that ended in 1957.
O Gauge 'Garratts' are rare beasts indeed – and particularly so when presented to this standard. Featuring all-metal construction, twin ABC motors, superb cab detail and DCC sound on a Loksound large-scale decoder, the model has been expertly constructed and represents a unique opportunity to acquire a truly impressive leviathan.
