The Brush Type 4 locomotives, latterly class 47, were the most numerous main-line diesels on Britain's railways. 47376 started life in 1965 as D1895 and was mostly based at Holbeck throughout its working life. Lasting in service until 2002 the locomotive was withdrawn from Tinsley and later preserved at the Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway.
