Gresley's mixed-traffic J39 engines could be found from South East England to Northern Scotland, and all 289 examples passed into British Railways use in 1948. Although allocated to Eastfield (Glasgow) when new in 1930, no. 64821 spent most of her 32-year career allocated to depots in Yorkshire and the North East. This model has been built and painted to a high standard from what is believed to be a Connoisseur brass kit and is a capable performer on the track.
