Help & Support
Dating from the 1930's, the Gresley-designed J39's were general workhorses frequently employed on freight and other mundane duties. They were nevertheless popular engines, with many enjoying relatively long and productive lives. No.64821 was firmly in that category, with a service life of well over 30 years at sheds mostly in North East England – albeit with a lengthy spell at Glasgow (Eastfield). The model here, believed to be from a Connoisseur kit, has been well constructed and runs well.
