The GWR's 5101 Class – often known as 'Large Prairies' – were introduced from 1929 and used on mixed traffic duties across the region. This model has been constructed to a good standard from a brass kit and would benefit from work to rectify imperfections in the paintwork and mechanism.

Condition Description

The model is in fair condition and has been well constructed. The paintwork – especially top the top of the boiler – is inconsistent and shows brush marks, chips and other blemishes. The cab roof is loose, and there are glue marks around the number plates.

The engine runs well at higher speeds, with a slight rocking motion evident. It is hesitant at lower speeds, with a tendency to surge.
