Newsletter No. 30
Good evening,
I hope you've all had a good bank holiday weekend, despite the British Summer making an unwelcome return!
There's plenty to cover in this newsletter, with the imminent Guildex Telford show taking precedence.
I'll also be covering upcoming stock, website updates and the ever nearing release of Darstaed 57' Mk1 Suburban coaches!
Telford
It will be a hectic in the office in preparation this week, not aided by today's bank holiday Monday.
When preparing for an exhibition such as Telford there is always an arms length to-do list which includes pricing and preparing stock, producing new advertising artwork, bringing in and testing new stock, sorting through Darstaed items, printing price tickets and much, much more.
This year we hope to have our most impressive setup yet! This will include a superb brand new Darstaed display, increase in pre-owned O gauge items and newly branded stands and cloths!
For me, Telford is always a dilemma. If I weren't exhibiting then I'd be there as a customer, and doing both is essentially impossible!
Nevertheless, I'll always find an excuse to leave the stand in aid of taking all the layouts and demonstrations in!
I've spoken before about the atmosphere of Telford, that all-for-one mentality, with the Gauge O Guild tirelessly working at the centre of it. The quality of stands, layouts and demonstrations is incredible, all contained within a brilliant venue, ideal for both traders and customers alike.
Telford Reserves
As I'm sure you're all aware, the van and stand space can only hold so much of our stock, therefore if you would like us to bring anything in particular for you to view, please do let us know. We will not hold you to anything, but I'd like to avoid leaving anyone wanting.
The same for Darstaed also, we can only bring a certain amount of each coach/wagon type and livery, with many selling out on day one! (and some before we even get there).
Upcoming Stock
Of course there are always people asking "whats coming up for sale next?!"
Well, on the eBay shop we will be listing some HO/N gauge American articulated locos, some as-new limited edition OO locos and sets, Tri-ang OO sets and locos and finally some various HO continental wagons and locos.
On the website there will be a little break until post Telford, however after Telford we will be adding some more American and Continental items alongside a large amount of British O gauge and a few gauge 1 models.
Website Updates
As I'm sure you'll all have now noticed, we have currently been updating the website with a filter tree. On desktop/laptop computers this is located down the left hand side of the page and on smartphones/tablets it should be located at the top of the page.
It's still a work in progress and we aim to add more categories as I myself get to grips with it! Also, if there is a filter you would like to see in this tree, then please email me and let me know.
We do have some other ideas to implement on the website and as always, if you would like to see any other features added to our site that would make it a more interesting experience, then please let me know.
Darstaed 57' Mk1 Suburbans
I will finish this newsletter on the Darstaed Suburban coaches.
You'll be pleased to know that progress is superb, we have now received the final CAD renderings of all coach types which have been uploaded to the website alongside this newsletter.
We're incredibly impressed by these, and judging by how the current Mk1 mainline coaches have been received, we feel that these will be a real hit!
Newsletter No. 31/32
The next newsletters will be exciting ones.
Newsletter No. 31 will be written from Villamoura in Portugal, I'm not boasting, I promise! This is my little annual trip away to stay in some friends apartment, it's a good opportunity to recharge the batteries ahead of what are usually the 'busy' few months.
In newsletter No. 32 I hope to make an exciting announcement, I won't say anything more for now, but I expect it to be very well received and a big step forward for Ellis Clark Trains.
As always, if there as anything we can help with or anything you would like to see covered in future newsletters then do let me know.
All the best,
Ellis.
