Newsletter No. 33

Newsletter No. 33

Good afternoon all,

It's been a manic build up to the launch of this newsletter and we have plenty of items to get through, including our big announcement.
To compliment this we also have two other big reveals... so let's get to it!

The time has come when I can announce our big news.

From the 17th of November we will open the doors to our brand new model railway showroom! This is something I have been planning and aspiring to since first launching the company back at the start of 2011 and I'd like to take this opportunity to invite you all to the opening weekend located in Skipton, on the 17th and 18th of November.

The Showroom Details
Throughout my childhood, my father - Andrew of Andrew Clark Models - took me on monthly trips to the National Railway Museum in York. Because of this, and visits I have made throughout the past few years, the showroom emulates the ambience and layout of the iconic museum and the items which it displays within its archives.

The showroom, which is situated in the centre of Skipton, will display all of our O gauge and larger scale stock alongside the full range of Darstaed Finescale. There will also be a seating area, complimentary award winning coffee, an O gauge test track, a selection of railway books and art, and much more.

The showroom is located next door to our office in Skipton, for which the address and directions can be found on our website. It will be open from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and by appointment on Saturdays.

Since moving our business to the Historic market Town, we have fallen in love with the area, attractions and surroundings. Due to this we have commissioned an artist - Hattie Clark (self-employment runs in the family!) - to design and draw a map highlighting all local attractions and nearby preserved heritage railways (more details to follow on the website in due course).

The Second Announcement
Well, to coincide with our showroom news, we would also like to reveal that ourselves and Darstaed will be releasing West Highland Liveried Mk1s! These coaches, for which the range has recently become award winning, will be available in both early and late livery with singles remaining at £189 (£750 for four) and £565 for a pack of three. All details can be found under the Darstaed section of the website, or by clicking on the pictures at the bottom of this email.

BR Mk1 Suburban Luggage Racks!
Another brilliant piece of news! Ourselves and Darstaed have been working hard to go above and beyond with the anticipated Mk1 suburbans as we try to make them as prototypically correct as possible.

We are therefore thrilled to announce that the new coaches (expected in Q1 of next year) will be fitted with brass luggage racks as standard!

We have added a photo to the bottom of this email, this is a CAD rendering for one of the open coaches, just to give you an idea of what to expect. As always, pre-orders can be made on the website, over the phone or in person with no deposits required.

New Loco Box Sizes
Over two years ago we launched the Ellis Clark Trains O Gauge loco box in 4 sizes - these have been incredibly well received in the market.

Well, we have now altered the sizes slightly with a smaller box, perfect for 0-4-0's and 0-6-0 tank locos - details will be launched on our website in the coming days.

Maroon Catering Stock
To continue adding to the work load in the office, we will be receiving in the next day or two the Darstaed Mk1 catering vehicles in Maroon livery! As usual, we will be calling all those with pre-orders with all four types of coach becoming available to purchase on the website in the next couple of days.

Upcoming/Current Stock
The past couple of weeks have included a huge range of different scales and brands. This is due to continue for the next fortnight or so with some superb 7mm British O gauge becoming available on the website, followed by some Continental O gauge and finally, to our eBay store, a wide range of HO, N and G scale!

The Next Newsletter
Next newsletter we will round up our Showroom opening weekend, with pictures, news and hopefully some shots of a production Mk1 Suburban sample! We will also be looking ahead to Warley and The Reading O Gauge Show, so keep tuned!

Until then, we hope to see plenty of you at our opening weekend and, as always, for anymore info, advice or questions please feel free to email or call.

All the best,
Ellis.
