Superbly brought to life by a Neil Armitage weathered finish, this Sancheng/Tower Brass J39 has been further enhanced through the addition of DCC sound and a high-quality speaker. All-brass construction, impressive backhead detail and excellent running qualities are the icing on the cake for this highly desirable model.
Introduced from 1926 and with a 4P/5F power classification, Gresley's J39 engines proved themselves versatile performers throughout the region. No. 64875 became a Carlisle-based locos just prior to nationalisation and was also based at Gorton before withdrawal in 1962.
