WORKSHOP Finescale O Gauge Southern Railway Ps-4 Pacific 4-6-2 No. 1396, Southern Green

1 item left

Built between 1923-1928, the Ps-4s were designed to pull the Southern Pacific's heavy mainline passenger trains with a total of 64 being produced. Painted in a unusual dark green livery, inspiration for this was drawn by SOU president Fairfax Harrison when he travelled to the UK and witnessed Gresley's A1/A3s on the East Coast. Due to this the locomotives gained the nicknames of The Harrison Engines. One locomotive No. 1401 has been preserved.

Factory built in brass, this locomotive would make a great restoration project to get it into operational condition. Tender appears to be an aftermarket addition to the locomotive, please see condition notes.

*Please note that items sold via The Workshop are not covered by our usual warranty and are intended as project pieces requiring maintenance and/or rectification.
