Built at Brighton works in the 1870s, the 50 members of Stroudley's A1 class of engine found varied work on southern metals and ranged from London's main line termini to the Isle of Wight. Eventually displaced from front-line services to shunting and rural work, some 'Terriers' survived into the 1960s.
This attractive example of Dapol's excellent model depicts no. 2644 in Southern Railway lined green and has been lightly weathered to an excellent standard. Please note this model has had its DCC PCB board removed and is now hardwired DC Only.
