Description

This is a fantastic American diesel locomotive from Key Model Imports. Its construction is of the extremely high quality that one would expect from the brand.

This pair of EMD E8 locomotives are provided in New York Central's distinctive 'Lightning Stripe' colourscheme, with road numbers 4038 and 4039.

Features

Brass and diecast construction.

Both units motorised.

2 Rail Finescale wheels fitted.

High end detailing including cab detailing, separate grilles, roof and underframe fittings.

Opening cab front and bodyside doors.

Working Directional Lighting, Classification Lights, Lighted Number Boards, In-Cab Lighting & In-Cab Detail.

Opening coupler covers.

Kadee couplings between locos and at one end of unit 4038.

High quality motor gearboxes.

Condition

Pre-owned in near mint condition. Unit 4038 has been fitted with a Kadee coupling at its nose end, which prevents closing of the coupling shrouds, but this could be unscrewed if desired.

There are a couple of very minor cosmetic marks to the finish around the grilles.

Track Test

All our O gauge models are tested on Peco track, this includes a left and right hand point alongside a 6 foot radius curve.

It is an excellent smooth runner at both low and high speeds. Despite its size both units navigate a six foot curve admirably.
