An enlarged version of the earlier 850 class, the Armstrong 2021s first appeared in 1897, with 140 constructed at Wolverhampton between then and 1905. They were employed in South Wales, Bristol, the Midlands and around Birkenhead. No. 2048 entered service in 1898 and was reborn as a Pannier in 1948, in which form it survived another four years.

Professionally built from an Eric Underhill/Vulcan Models kit, this model is a beautiful example of the class. It is in near mint condition, runs suuperbly and features exquisite backhead detail.
