Oliver Bulleid's express locomotives entered service on the Southern Region during the Second World War and distinguished themselves for over two decades hauling boat trains to the South Coast. They were particularly associated with the 'Bournemouth Belle', for which they became the motive power of choice.

This model, built to a high standard from what is believed to be an ACME Models brass kit, depicts no. 35015, an engine based at both Nine Elms and Stewarts Lane and named after the famous Dutch shipping line.
