'Royal Scot' No. 6130 enjoyed 35 years of front-line service on the West Coast Main Line and was allocated to depots as diverse as Carlisle, Crewe and Holyhead. Succumbing in 1962 it was perhaps appropriate that its final shed, Leeds Holbeck, was close to the famous regiment after which it as named.
Our model here, from an unknown kit, was built to a professional standard and is a fabulous representation of the type. Adorned with the Stanier tender its condition as shown here is around 1933 onwards.
