The British Railways built Class 08 shunters were arguably BR's most successful design; over 1000 were produced, and they reached all parts of the country. This BR blue example (Dapol item no. 7D-008-020S) depicts 08538, an East Midlands-based engine from its introduction in 1973. It features factory-fitted DCC sound.
