Constructed between 1907-1908 at Gateshead Locomotive Works, 10 of these 4-6-0s were designed by Wilson Worsdell for the Scarborough to Whitby Line. Lasting a mere 7 to 8 years in this form, the whole class were rebuilt to 4-6-2s between 1914-1917 to become the W1/LNER A6.
Rarely seen in any scale this unusual prototype has been constructed from brass components.
