The LNER's versatile J15 engines were constructed by the Great Eastern Railway from as early as 1883 (when they were designated Y14) and were the most numerous of the region's ex-GER locomotives. No. 65462 was one of the most youthful members of its class, emerging from Stratford Works in 1912. Lasting in service until 1962, the locomotive is now the sole survivor of the class, being preserved in Y14 condition at the North Norfolk Railway.
This brass kit/scratch built example has been finished in BR Black with early lettering and requires some cosmetic restoration to get it up to standard.
Please note that items sold via The Workshop are not covered by our usual warranty and are intended as project pieces requiring maintenance and/or rectification.
