Gauge 1 Live Steam (Kit/Scratch-Built) Class D16 No. 7711 LNER Lined Apple Green

1 item left

Constructed at Stratford Works in 1906, the GER's Class D15 (or Claud Hamilton) engines were later modified by the LNER to Class D16. They worked express passenger trains on former Great Eastern routes (most notably the 'Norfolk Coast Express') until supplanted by more powerful engines in the 1930s. Thereafter they could be found ferrying commuters between London and Cambridge, as well as on cross country workings.
