Designed by Gresley as a shortened down A3, the V2s were quickly put to work on fast freight duties and other mixed traffic turns. 184 V2s where built and the locomotives in service quickly earned the reputation of being "the engines that won the war". Built at Doncaster and Darlington, this particular locomotive No. 4843 was built in 1939 and lasted in service until 1963.
Built from a DJH kit this model is presented in a wonderful rendition of LNER lined apple green livery and is a limited edition.
