Pre-Owned Finescale O Gauge
OO Gauge Projects
Presented here is an excellently weathered example of LNER No.2553 with GNR style tender in LNER lined apple green, constructed from brass and cast metal components.
No.2553 was one of the few A1/A3's to carry two names although it is presented here before the application of its first name 'Manna' - a Derby winner in 1925. That name however was short-lived and no less than the future King Edward VIII bestowed the name 'Prince of Wales' on the loco in 1926. The loco had a very itinerant career after that with many different shed allocations before it mets its end in 1964.
An excellent runner with DCC Sound courtesy of a Zimo decoder this is a super example of early LNER super power.
