The LNER's B12 engines began life as the Great Eastern Railway's S69 Class and were designed to haul express passenger trains form London Liverpool Street. No. 8579 first took to the rails in 1928 and enjoyed stays at Stratford and Colchester until withdrawal in 1957.

Constructed to a high standard from a brass kit of unknown origin, this model features chassis compensation, has been hand lined and is a solid performer on the track.

Condition Description

The model is in excellent condition overall, with a small mark to the cab roof and some minor paint wear to the edge of the running plate on the tender. While there is minimal backhead detail, there is ample room to augment this if desired.
