Smartly finished in NER black with red lining, this Class T2 is presented in its earliest guise, before reclassification to Q6 by the LNER. Built for heavy mineral traffic in the North East, these rugged machines wouldn't have stayed pristine for long! 120 were built between 1913 and 1921, to a design by Vincent Raven. Remaining in service until 1967, one has been preserved on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, where it is a regular performer.
This heavyweight DJH model is in wonderful condition, with particularly good slow-speed performance.
