'W1' no. 60700 began life in 1930 as the experimental 'Hush-Hush' locomotive with high-pressure boiler. This was largely unsucessful, and the loco was re-built in 1937 with a conventional boiler and A4-style body. This DJH factory-built example wears the BR blue (with early crest) livery carried by the prototype in 1951/2. It is from a limited run of just 50 such models and includes a certificate of authenticity.
