The Churchward (later Collett) Small Prairies were designed and built as small mixed traffic locomotives, often finding work on rural GWR branchlines due to their light axle loading and reasonably powerful traction output. First introduced in 1906, 75 were built to the design. No. 4575 was the first to be built to the Collett design with larger side tanks, 100 of these locomotives were built between 1927-1929. Sadly the locomotive did not survive into preservation.
