Finescale O Gauge (Kit-Built) ex-GWR King No. 6011 'King James I', BR Green Late Crest

1 item left

Presented here is a fantastically detailed Malcolm Mitchell kit-built model of King Class 'King James I'. Built of all metal components the model is an excellent runner, fitted with Slater's wheels, ABC multi-stage gearbox and Maxon Motor. The model has been completed in BR Brunswick green with excellent transfer lining.

Built in 1928 as part of the 30 strong class of Kings designed for the GWR's top express services, 'King James I' clocked up some 1,718,295 recorded miles throughout her working career. Sadly like with 27 of her other classmates she was withdrawn in 1962 and scrapped at Swindon Works. Three Kings have been preserved, these being class pioneer 'King George V', 'King Edward I' and 'King Edward II'.
