The GCR built four powerful class 8H engines for hump shunting duties at Wath yard. The locos were classified S1 by the LNER and were used by BR until the late 1950s.

This model has been professionally built by Mike Morris from a Gladiator Models brass kit. A superb runner, it has been fitted with DCC sound.
