The Type 1 Bo-Bo locomotives produced by the Clayton Equipment Company in the early 1960's were not a success. With declining traffic for which they were intended, and poor reliability, the majority of the class averaged only six years in service. Heljan's model, ref 1753, showcases D8607 which initially found service in the industrial north east, before moving northwards to Scotland. An excellent runner the model is also factory weathered.
