New to the Southern region from 1960 onwards the BRCW Type 3's were one of the success stories of the early dieselisation programme. New in October 1960 D6528, like many of it sister locos, went to Hither Green depot, enjoying a very long life through to current preservation. Heljan's model (their ref 3393) is presented in that early 1960's condition and like most Heljan large diesels is an excellent runner. It has additionally been lightly weathered post-factory.
