The Brush Type 4 locomotives, latterly class 47, were the most numerous main-line diesels on Britain's railways. Despite this only as very small number were initially named and it fell to the Western Region to bestow a series of names on these fine locos. D1662 became "Isambard Kingdom Brunel' in 1965 and retained this with TOPS renumbering, becoming No. 47 087. Heljans excellent model (item No. 4883) is in excellent condition and nicely weathered.
