Known as the 'Canal Type' this class of locomotive were built for private owner use by Hudswell Clarke during the early 1900s. Built for the Mid Suffolk light Railway the locomotive was in service till 1924 when it passed into LNER ownership being classified as J64 and numbered 8316. The locomotive was scrapped in 1928.
