Gresley's B17 locomotives were introduced from 1928 and used on Great Eastern passenger trains from London to Norwich and Cambridge. Known as 'Footballers' this class were mainly named after English football teams that the LNER served stations for, with others being named after various halls and stately homes. No. 61666 'Nottingham Forest' was built in 1937 and lasted in service until 1960, having spent 23 years in service.
