'Duchess of Montrose' was one of 38 similar Pacifics designed by William Stanier for heavy-duty express work on the West Coast Main Line. Constructed to a good standard from a brass kit of unknown origin, this model has been decorated to portray the engine in the BR guise it wore until withdrawal in 1962.
