Golden Age Models Finescale O Gauge LNER Class A4 No.4496 'Golden Shuttle' DCC Sound & Smoke, Weathered

1 item left

Inaugurating a new era in travel between the West Riding of Yorkshire and London, the LNER introduced their new streamlined express service, the 'West Riding Limited', from the winter timetable of 1937. Completing the journey between  Leeds and London in 2 3/4 hours non stop as compared to the previous time of 3 hours 10 minutes, this was a significant moment in Gresley's attempts to speed up the East Coast route. At the head of the new streamlined stock were two new Pacific locomotives, 'Golden Shuttle' and 'Golden Fleece', giving a fitting connection to the West Riding woollen industry.

Modelled here is the second of the West Riding pair to enter service, 'Golden Shuttle'. From the renowned Golden Age Models stable and featuring all-metal construction together with firebox glow, DCC sound and synchronised smoke, this is superb representation of the real thing, further enhanced by a light weathered finish.
