Built at Brighton works in the 1870s, the 50 members of Stroudley's A1 Class found varied work on southern metals and ranged from London's main line termini to the Isle of Wight. Eventually displaced from front-line services to shunting and rural work some 'Terriers' survived into the 1960s.
This SanCheng model depicts No. 644 in later A1X format with extended boiler.
