Newsletter No. 20

Good evening all,

I have been waiting a while to bring this newsletter to you - there is so much to cover with the arrival of the first Darstaed Set A coaches at the forefront.

This email will also serve as an update on all pre-orders for the other 5 liveries alongside an update on website stock, eBay shop stock, Warley, Reading O Gauge show and other general news.

First let me start by apologizing to all those yet to received their Darstaed Set A's. Essentially the manufacturing amalgamation of brass, die-cast, plastic, paint and other components has resulted in delays. This hybrid build system, which we believe to be superb, is a new approach for Darstaed and as such, has taken slightly longer than anticipated to bring everything together, the good news is that production is now 'full steam ahead' with expected deliveries towards the end of December and start of January for all remaining Set A's; singles and set B's will then be delivered between February and May.

Those who have received their chocolate and cream Set A's have been delighted - the comments received could not have been better! Some remaining choc and cream sets also made the trip with us to Warley, where they were extremely well received with many more pre-orders placed - the general consensus seems to be that these remarkable coaches have been well worth the wait

We still have a small quantity left of the chocolate and cream Set A's available - these are now up for sale on the website with the remaining sets coming down with us to the Reading O Gauge Show (if they haven't already sold by then!)

Whilst on the subject of the Reading O Gauge Show (held at the Rivermead leisure center this Saturday) we will be exhibiting all the new Darstaed Finescale range; accompanied by our usual stock of kit built and RTR locos, coaches, wagons and accessories. If you have seen anything on our website which takes your fancy be sure to let me know - I'd be more than happy to bring any item along for you to have a look at.

Next week I will be holidaying in Northumberland with the family, in charge of the office will be Paddy, he doesn't know this yet but I am preparing him a stack of kit-built O Gauge locos for the website alongside a large amount of HO continental and OO sounds locos for our eBay store. It will certainly be worth checking out both stores throughout the week.

A recent addition to the website was an incredible gauge 1 live steam collection, something which I have always had a keen interest in but am only now getting to know the real "ins and outs' of these impressively engineered models. This is something which I intend to expand into in the future with many more locos, rolling stock and perhaps even a garden railway! (perhaps I'm dreaming a little)

In more news we recently added some new items to the reduced section of O gauge on the website. There are some of the excellent Golden Age Models coaches, alongside some professionally built locos and coaches, these are certainly worth having a look if you haven't already!

As always, should you have any questions, queries or advice - please feel free to call the office where either myself or Paddy will be happy to chat to you.

Hope to see some of you at Reading this Saturday.

All the best,
Ellis.
