In the most romantic week of the year, we’re thrilled to announce the dawn of a beautiful partnership…and an expansion in the art of grimyness.
You'll know by now that we’ve been having a re-jig in Skipton: New digs, fresh paint and a lot more real estate. But the final piece of the puzzle involved a certain Mr Armitage. You see, Neil and his workbench had been temporarily displaced by all the comings and goings. Not wanting to leave our master craftsman wandering around in the bushes any longer, this week we’ve opened Neil World – a state-of-the-art weathering and repair facility, where models will go to be made realistically mucky in its namesake’s inimitable style.
But it was said in some long-running sci-fi saga or other that every master needs an apprentice. A well-known face on the Clark Railworks team, Faye's already proven her skills with an airbrush – and certainly knows her way around an engine, having fired the real thing for some years. Faye’s now completing her training under Neil's expert eye and will be tested to the limits as she learns his secrets, finally earning her spurs and the hallowed right to use a ‘Weathered by…’ signature.
And Neil World is part of a bigger plan. Up until now we’ve only offered weathering on our O Gauge products. But with an exciting pipeline of OO Gauge models on the shelf and in development, it made sense to double-team the spray booth. So from this summer – and just in time for the arrival of our ‘DubDees’ – we’ll be offering our industry-leading weathering service on all Clark Railworks models purchased directly from us. Which means that not only will you be able to buy the finest things on two rails but have them authentically begrimed under the same roof.
