Gauge 1 Live Steam (Kit/Scratch-Built) LNWR George V Class No. 5320 LMS Lined Maroon

1 item left

The LNWR's George the Fifth Class engines were designed by Charles Bowen-Cooke for express workings on the region and were built at Crewe Works between 1910 and 1915. Following the Railway Act of 1921 and the formation of the LMS in 1923, the Class was painted in the company's distinctive maroon and given the power classification '3P'. Although displaced from express workings by Stanier's more powerful engines, the Class continued to work key passenger routes until withdrawals began in 1935.
