No. 71000 was built as a one-off locomotive to replace the destroyed 'Princess Anne'. Due to issues with the design process, the locomotive never quite proved its potential under BR ownership. After being sent to Barry Scrapyard, the 'Duke' has since been preserved and modified, proving itself to be one of the most efficient and powerful steam locomotives in Britain.
This all brass kit-built depiction requires some restoration work to get it up to a high standard.
Please note that items sold via The Workshop are not covered by our usual warranty and are intended as project pieces requiring maintenance and/or rectification.
