Finished to a very good standard, this ex-GCR J10 sports LNER plain black as no. 5170.
Constructed between 1892-1902 to the design of Harry Pollitt, 124 of these locomotives were built for freight workings on the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway (later GCR). The class was withdrawn from 1933, with the last example bowing out in 1961. Sadly, none were preserved.
