The Great Central Railway's Class 8K locomotives were constructed just prior to the First World War and used widely by the Royal Engineers' Railway Operation Division during the conflict. The engines (reclassified to Class O4) became the LNER's most numerous heavy goods loco; no. 63644 served the East Midlands area until 1966.
This model has been constructed to a very high standard from what is believed to be a Gladiator brass kit. Professionally weathered in-house, it features an impressive DCC sound file (synchronised with the motion) and high-quality speaker in the tender.
