Decorated to a high standard this excellent depiction of ex-GCR D9 appears here finished in BR Black with lettering as 'Queen Mary'.
Introduced in 1902 under the design of John Robinson, 40 of these 'Pom Pom Bogie' locomotives were constructed for express passenger services. This example No. 62307 was constructed in 1902 and lasted in service until 1950, being based at Trafford Park its whole working life.
